Newport Canal

We will not renewing the lease in 2026 for this venue.  Members are able to fish this venue until March 26 using the club card. Honeysuckle AC have kindly permitted Audco members to fish their stretch beyon this date. 

The Venue has plenty of good pegs along the footpath, with 3 disabled / OAP pegs (Car Park side), many good bags of fish are taken along the length and it's used reguarlary for Club matches and the annual MacMillian Cancer charity match is hosted in July (Pairs).

The club also have a gentlemans agreement in place with Honeysuckle AC, which allows each others members to fish Newport town stretches. Audco members can fish the honeyscukle section with an Audco club card.

FAVOURED METHODS: Again the Pole is the dominant method here, but light waggler or ledger is always an option.

HOW TO FIND: Approaching Newport from Stafford on A518, go straight over the roundabout (From Telford A41 turn Left, from Whichurh turn right). Straight across the small roundabout, turn right into Hampton Drive. Follow the road onto Gravel road (along park) until you get to the Car park. Short walk to Canal. You must ONLY fish the towparth side of the canal unless OAP or blue badge holder can fish the three pegs available on car park side.
