The club have re-arranged the Annual Pairs match (held on the canal) to September the 12th.  Delays due to Coronavirus restrictions, but has not been confirmed for the new date.

Matches back under way following Covid outbreak.  With social distancing in place and limited places, and pre-booking on in place.  Matches start on 3rd June at Long Lane, with fixtures following at Melverley Farm Sunday 6th June.

Update on Covid (as per main page)  Long Lane, Bearcroft Pool and SUC are re-opening from the 13th May.  Newport canal remains closed until further notice.  We believe several tackle shops are operating a call and collect service, check with your local tackle shop for more information.

Waters remain closed due to Covid-19, everyone stay safe and lets all get back out there when it's over!

A further update on Covid-19  and following recent Government rules of stay at home, and non essential travel.  We have now closed the waters for Fishing until further notice.  They remain open to walk around (on discretation of owners) but we should all refrain from Fishing at this time on the waters. We trust members will abide by the Government and NHS guidlines and we will continue to monitor the situation closely and thank all memebers for their support and understanding during this time.  Stay home, save lives.

Club matches have been cancelled or post poned following Government advice on the Coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak. The club will continue to monitor the situation and make necessary changes if required.   See the Home page link for full Goverment / Angling Trust statement.

At present matches up unitl End of April have been cancelled check back for more updates.

The club meetings have also been cancelled for the next 3 months.

Winter matches and knock ups are happening on the club waters from Shropshire Union canal, Newport Canal and Bearcroft Pool. Venues have been fishing up and down, with some good days / weights and some tougher ones.  But as it's been mild so far this winter why not join us on a Saturday?

Also a quick well done and thank you to Dave Jones and team for the excellent recent Winter works carried out on Long Lane Pool.  The guys have tidy the place up, especially the pegs from 9 to 12 check it out. Fishing has been good up there too, Fish are in excellent condition and some fantasic Roach coming out bonus!!!

Long Lane in fine condition.  The Club thanks Dave Jones and is mates for the fine work carried out on Long Lane Pool, the banks have been cleared and rails fitted on the sloping banks of pegs 10-13 and plenty of plants / weeds trimmed so pool is looking very good, cheers Dave!

The clubs fur and feather was held on Saturday 7th December on the Shropshire Union Canal with some good weights (see match results).

New 2020 Cards now available form all the normal outlets and Club bailiffs £28 for Adults, £20 Senior / Disabled and £10 for Juniors (no increases).

Newport canal is in process of being dredged, which will clear much of the silted up bottom and tidy the water up.  The work is being carried out by contractors on behalf of Wild Life trust and partners, and is likley to take several weeks with Telford, Lilleshall and our streches bening affected.  Some disruption should be expected during this time, overall the depth and quality of water should be improved.

Club AGM Thursday 7th November at the Kings Head, Newport.

Half Price Audco cards are now available from all normal outlets. New cards will be on-sale from January.

New fish stocks added to Bearcroft Pool, several hundred F1 Carp have been added to the Fish stock at Bearcroft Pool, Hinstock in-line with club commitment of re-stocking and managing the waters.

SUC Matches -  Look out for Winter matches and opens on the shropshire canal.

The Audco series draws to an end this month and we'd like to thank everyone for supporting the League this season.  It's been well attended and offered varied venues, with some great weights and we've had 6 different winners over the 10 rounds so far!!!!

Dave Matson has wrapped up the series again for the 3rd time in a row equalling a feat that Ron Mullinder set a few years back. Well done Dave consistency is key and you've certainly showed that.  The race is on now for the best of the rest and to complete the placings (see series link for more info and league standings).

Also anyone wishing to register their interest in the league for next season, should contact Stuart Miles or Bob Pritchard so a place can be reserved for next year.

The fishing is far from done though, with many matches on the Newport Canal and SUC sections into the Autumn as well as invitation matches, look back here for further updates.

The club are delighted to announce that several hundred small Carp have been stocked into Bearcroft Pool, continuing the stock re-fresh policy.

The Lilco Juniors have a match on Long Lane on 10th July from 6pm.  This is a 2 hour match from 6:30pm till 8:30pm.

We are pleased to announce that Bearcroft Pool lease has been renewed and will remain twith the club. This is beyond the current 12 months, so we're delighted to have retained the venue.

The club undertook pool maintenance during May on Long Lane and we thank memebers who came along on the work party and helped us.  Peg repairs and general clean up was done.

No changes to prices for the cards either for 2019 (froze for the 5th year running).  It's also worth noting that the club no longer have Bolas on the roster as it was deemed not worth continuing with.
