Club cards for 2012 are now on sale from our baliffs and prices have remained the same as last year, meaning no rate increases for the 3rd year running, making it exceptional value! Cards can also be purchased from Newport Engravers and The Pet Centre in Newport High Street.
The Club's AGM is to be held at the Pheasant on Tuesday 6th December, and the Fur & Feather is to be held at Long Lane on Sunday 4th December (10am draw).
The Shropshire Union opens are continuing in the month with 1 on 4th December and 1 on December 10th.
November
The Club have some opens on the Club Canals over the coming weeks, so check the local press and or this site for more dates, here are a couple . .
Nov 12th & 26th Shropshire Union Canal @ Knighton both with a draw time of 8am.
Have your SAY! If you want to change things or give ideas, the clubs AGM is fast approaching, any proposals should be submitted in WRITING to the Club secretary by November 22nd.
August
The Advertiser Junior Angling match takes place on Saturday 13th August, draw at 8:15am, fish 9am til noon. Entry is £1 and forms are printed in the Newport Advertiser, any team wishing to enter the event should do so by Friday August the 12th (noon is when application period is closed).
Entries should be handed in at the The Pet Centre, Newport or the Advertiser offices in Newport town, if in doubt ask any commitee member. This is a popular event with teams from as far as Stoke attending, and is good for all budding Junior anglers.

The Annual Pairs match was contested on July 2nd, an nice warm day was enjoyed, but made the fishing tricky. The event raised £60 for the Macmillian charity and The Phez kindly hosted the after match presentations, so thanks to all involved in the event.

Long Lane series comes to a close with a new champion for 2011, well done to Pete Burrell who won the series with 10 points and a 2nd place on the last match.
April - May
The Long Lane Series is now in full swing, with the best weight of the series (47lb) coming off peg 8 to pole and pellet a good back of Carp to 7lb!
Feb- March
The club are pleased to announce that work has been completed on the disabled pegs at the clubs stretch of canal in the town at Newport:
The 2011 Long Lane Spring Series kicks off on Sunday 27th March, with 7 matches scheduled, Stuart Miles is running the series but bookings and placings are still being taken by Bob Pritchard. This year follows the same format, but with an extra match so it will be the best 5 out of 7 results for the league.
The pool has been re-stocked and is fishing well, so if you're interested in taking part in the series then please register your interest with Bob on 01952 613589, be soon to apply soon as this is a popular series and places are limited to first come first served basis!
New Refurbished pegs at Newport Canal, the club are pleased to announce that the council have recently refurbished the disabled pegs on the clubs stretch of canal at Newport. There are now 3 refurbished pegs, with hardcore and path around them.
